Here is something we never expected to have, a complete console from the legendary IBM System 360 model 40 mainframe! This console is in excellent condition, and appears to have been built in 1967. The IBM 360 family of mainframes was one of IBM’s most successful product lines, and the impact continues today in current generation Z-series mainframes that power some of the worlds largest banks and other businesses. We were fortunate to collect his locally along with some other boards and parts that were headed for scrap. This console appears to have once been owned by a local bank, called Virginia National Bank, based on the asset tag.
